Dr Hocking and his team aim to provide the best possible restorative and implant supported dental solutions in a comfortable and relaxed environment.
Dr Hocking has spent many years in postgraduate training in both Australia and London (UK), gaining two separate Masters Degrees in clinical dentistry. He is trained to carry out both the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant supported dentistry so as to be competent to provide the most appropriate dental solutions for all his patients.
Dr Hocking's treatment is carried out largely under a microscope to ensure an ideal outcome. He believes that microscope aided dentistry considerably improves the quality of treatment provided to the patient and that in the future the use of microscopes will be considered an essential part of providing optimum care.
Dr Hocking is on the planning committee and presents lectures for the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants) at the University of Sydney. These lectures cover various topics including ridge augmentation, implant placement with simultaneous sinus lift, treatment planning in implant supported dentistry, abutment selection and immediate implant placement.
In addition, he teaches at the University's Department of Continuing Education 4 day course on Extended Fixed Prosthodontics with Veneers and Implants, and the C.E's 2 day course on Implant Prosthodontics (together with Dr Richard Chan and Dr Markijan Hupalo).
Dr Hocking also lectures for Nobel Biocare's Advanced Implant Placement and Grafting course in March and September each year with Dr Richard Chan.
Additionally, he runs a one day Implant Dentistry Update course through the Australian Dental Association of NSW at St Leonards.
Dr Hocking is passionate about mentoring and regularly runs small mentor group meetings with his referring dentists on various topics appropriate to their clinical development, in particular helping them with their more complex cases.
