Restorative & Implant Dentistry

Dr Nicholas Hocking and his team aim to provide the best possible restorative and implant-supported dental solutions in a comfortable and relaxed environment.

Dr Hocking has spent many years in postgraduate training in both Australia and London (UK), gaining two separate Masters Degrees in clinical dentistry.

Dr Hocking is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Sydney and is heavily involved in, and on the planning committee for, the Grad Diploma in Oral Implants.

Dr Hocking's treatment in his private practice is often carried out under a microscope to ensure an ideal outcome. He believes that microscope-aided dentistry considerably improves the quality of treatment provided to the patient, and that in the future the use of microscopes is likely to be considered essential for providing a minimum standard of care for more complex restorative dentistry.

Dr Hocking’s practice is referral based, and he strives to work in a collaborative way with his dental and medical colleagues to ensure that patients who are referred in for care receive the best and most appropriate treatment for their individual circumstances. He enjoys talking to colleagues about cases they are treating and offering a second opinion when asked. The majority of his clinical time is spent carrying out the treatment planning and the surgical aspect of the case so the referring restorative dentist can focus on what he or she enjoys doing most: providing predictable, ideal implant supported restorations.
